Problem is if you register it to yourself, your full name, home address (assuming you aren't operating out of a commercial building), phone number, etc. is PUBLIC info on the web for all the spam/porn-bots to grab and send you endless streams of junk Email (and perhaps hardcopy USMail as well)!

That's why I have no domains registered to me personally and use domain space provided by a good friend.

www.godaddy.com offers private registrations for $8.95 extra per year (free if you register 3 or more domains). This results in an intermediaty being listed on the web address, however, you still have ownership and direct control of the domain name.
