I have a JC Higgins model 583.12. It is a bolt action 16 gauge shotgun. Great condition and fully functional. I also have a Winchester model 37A single shot 12 gauge with some rust on the finish but still functional and able to be restored if someone wants to. Lastly I have a S&W model 1 1/2 single action revolver. This is in .33 cal and still fully functional. It is the single action model so uses modern cartridges not like the original black powder ones. The finish is really worn but it functions and itls a cool little pistol. I have a pretty good idea what these are worth but was jist wondering if anyone had any input or suggestions from personal experience on what I should be asking for them? Thanks for any help.

A good source for looking up general prices is on GunBroker. Search the completed listings and be brutally honest with yourself about the condition of the firearms.

How timely... I just dug up some unknown 16 gauge shot shells...entirely fire at your own risk!
If you are ever in the SE CT area, you can take them away.

Hey thanks man! Yeah i wonder if availability ofauge shells will takr the price down cuz it really is in great shape. In usually in SW CT between like hamden and bridgeport when im down there but ill keep it in mind thanks

Regarding the JC Higgins, most gun shops I walk into seem to have a few of these sitting around for $150 give or take $25. The same ones are usually sitting there the next time. My guess is that if you want to move it quickly, you'll have to go below that, maybe around $100, especially since that is a 16 gauge and not a 12.

The Higgins I believe is a High Standard manufactured shotgun.... with a sears,Higgins,Glenfield tag.
My 2 cents ..... $100 gun at best , the 37a another working man's gun in the condition you describe it might fetch $75?
