Vanity Call Signs

Once my call sign is assigned, I plan on applying for a vanity call sign.

When I did a search for the one I want, it was used at one point by someone else, but it expired back in 2009 and was cancelled in 2011.

Will the FCC assign it to me? Or should I not bother in the event the guy was a jerk?

2008 is a long ass time ago. Also remember in order for it to expire it had to be out of grace for like 2 yrs or whatever the interval is (it might be less now).

Yeah...that is what I was thinking too. I like it as it does describe me to a T....I'll apply for it and then post once I get it.
