Wall/shelf/floor rifle rack (and pistol rack)?

I've modified a secure closet to store my toys (i.e. added entrance-style lock, etc.), but right now everything is stashed in separate cases, and the collection is growing.

Are there recommended floor-standing or wall-mounted racks for holding a wide variety of long guns cleanly and simply? I'd build something, but I don't have the time. Maybe 6-8 gun capacity.

I could also use a similar arrangement for the pistols, perhaps something that sits on a shelf. (ahh... some nice tips in this thread: http://northeastshooters.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=16881)

Thanks for any suggestions.

put up some pegboard and experiment a variety of different hooks will work you just have to find what works for you.

I'm planning on putting a 10" x 1" wide pine board along the bottom of my closet with some 1"x1" dividers and a 4" x 1" pine board higher up with U cuts using a hole saw. Kinda like what you see in gun shops but maybe with a long thin bungee cord across the top every 5 rifles maybe so they can't fall out if one gets bumped.
Not too time consuming, just something basic and functional.

like ripach said...pegboard does a good job

and thats just the cheap stuff i got...they make metal pegboard too that would probably look pretty sexy with guns hangin on it

I know this is a necro post, and I do apologize ahead of time. I stumbled upon this forum when searching for some good, solid cushioned peg hooks for my pegboard. I have not seen them anywhere else, and I have been researching this for close to a week now. All I ever get for results are those metal cheap hooks they sell at Menards and other hardware stores.

Can anyone point me in the direction to acquire the ones in LORD of WAR's photo? Specifically the ones in the pistol picture. Also, would those be suitable for riles too? Thanks is advance, and again, I am sorry for the necro post. I had no where else to turn to.

Thank you for the quick response Reyn. I appreciate it very much. My gun wall will be complete in no time thanks to you guys!
