I just got my M3 last month for Bullseye shooting. As a new Bullseye shooter there were a few things that drew me to it; cost, fit, looks and (out of the box) options.
--The M3/M4 are the same with the exception of the rails on the M3 and the adjustable target grip on the M4. Those parts can be bought separately. --
I wanted the rails and didn’t want to shell out the extra $300 for the grip so I ordered the M3 for $450 delivered. The medium standard grip feels really good in my hand and I’ll put a 2X scope on it soon. For now I’m O.K. (not thrilled) with the open sights. I like the idea of the triangle front sight that allows setting the width, although it is a pain to change. The Picatinny rails can be removed and replaced with the provided slot covers that are on the M2.
Now to what you asked about: The balance feels good to me. Not as barrel heavy as the MKII’s I’ve shot. The adjustable trigger on the M3/M4 is neat; however the adjustments are a little hard to get to with the supplied tools. The trigger pull is a really long 2 stage. The manual says I can adjust it and I’ve just now gotten to the point where I am adjusting the trigger and liking it more. I’m shooting it with no work done to it and I’m still improving on my score… I think the jury is still out on the overall accuracy capabilities of the SP22.
Hope this helps,
