The Plymouth Airport is sponsoring the display of 2 aircraft from the Collings Foundation this weekend. They have a B24 Liberator and B17 Flying Fortress. They come here every year and visit airports all over the country. My father in law flew out of England with the 8th Air Force 44th Bomb Group on a B24. He went and visited the planes today like he's done in the past. After work today, I zipped over to the airport to see the planes up close and personal with him. Even though they come every year I've never gotten a chance to see them close up. Infreakingcredable! I don't know how these guys did it but they did.
They charge $8 to go through the planes and $400 for a ride. We keep trying to get dad to go for a ride but he keeps saying, "I had plenty of rides and I don't want another". He has some stories and a photo album that's packed.
Here's some pics I took. 1st 2 are the B24 "Witchcraft", 3rd is the B17 Nine O Nine. The last one is Dad's B24 "Fertile Myrtle".
