Since I'm relatively new to the gun world, a lot of carry guns have recently came out. My first handgun was the SR9c and I had a lot of options to pick from. The Ruger felt best in my hand and is versatile. The PPS is pretty new as well, the LC9, M&PC. And now the Shield is coming out. What I want to know is what you all did before 2008? What were you carrying? PM9? G19/26? I'd be interested to hear what you all carried before this influx of new carry handguns.

I had a HK USPc .40, HK P2000 .40 LEM, HK USP .45 Compact, and a Glock 19.... that I carried on a regular basis but in terms of hours carried the G19 beat them all by years. Nowadays I go between the G19 and a G26, if only because the G26 is a little easier to conceal.

ETA: Oh crap, almost forgot..... also carried Colt Officer's Mods, and a Colt Delta Elite 10mm 1911..... and briefly, also carried Sig P226, P239, and HK P7M8.

You still can't beat the G19. Maybe the Caracal-sub or whatever they call it comes close, but I think its dimensionally ever so larger than the 19. I played with one of those the other day, seemed like a really nice gun. Course in MA what sucks is I don't think there are any 10 round mags you can get for it.

I was carrying a S&W M640 .357 Magnum with Cor-bon's

In fact I still often carry it....

There have always been new guns introduced, you're just noticing the recent ones. The good ones stick around, the meh ones, not so much. It really hasn't changed much.
 
Heck.... I just noticed the thread topic.... Just wondering if you are Gay too... hence the thread topic?.. Is it ok for anyone to post to this...
 
Thanks for moving the thread. I did not pick the thread title, I hope it doesn't offend some gay people. [wink]. Yeah I just wanted to know what everyone carried before this whole new generation of carry handguns. Looks like Glock had a good hold on the market.

Don't blame it on him, I'm the one that invented the title, and I have changed it so I don't offend anyone's sensitibilities- it was a jab at the fact that there are like 48 shield threads on the forum right now- that are all basically the same, with the possible exception of the first couple that were posted.

I carried a Taurus Model 85, 5 shot .38. I like carrying (and shooting) my Ruger LC9 a lot more.

I'll admit it (and Mike can bash it [laugh]) a stainless Taurus 85. Still have it and carry it from time to time. Never had an issue with it.
 
Sig 239, Walther PPK, S&W 6906, S&W 642, S&W 1911sc and Glock 26. My current favs: Glock 19 for winter and Kahr PM9. I'm very happy with these two--I see no reason to make a change.
 
Since my carry history goes back to the mid-1970s, I've carried a rather varied lot since then.

In the beginning it was an OMC (before they sold out and became AMT) Backup .380 (a 15+# trigger that only a MA AG could be proud of), then a Walther PPK/s .380 and Colt Det Spcl at various times. In more recent times, H&K USPc 40, 1911, Kahr PM9 and M&P 9c.

The only one of the above that I ever got rid of was the OMC Backup, with no regrets!
 
Depends on the weather. Summer pocker theres not much out there better than a 642. small keltec or kahr etc small nines have filled that void. I wont carry .380.

Mid seasons opt for more firepower like the g27, sr9c xdm 3.8 types.

Anything with a thicker cover shirt and a decent belt i go with the g21 g22 xdm 4.5.

Hunting..oc the ruger 41 mag or 629
