wasr10 question

My neighbor has a fairly new wasr10. Prob 5 years old with maybe 300 rounds through it. The rail on the charging handle side seems to be bending downward in the front closest to the barrel. Anyone ever see that happen? It seems to still function properly but I don't know if I should be concerned about it. Any thoughts?

If it still chambers, locks up tight, and fires, I wouldn't worry about it.
