This is not true. Nylon 66 melts at 509F. You can temper hardenable steels at the temp.There is no change to metal at temps where a nylon holster doesn't even melt.

No... the cardboard wrapped ammo did not get anywhere near 400 degrees F, so what you are looking at is water damage only.
