Series of mass shooting hoaxes come as Alex Jones Sandy Hook trial kicks off.

At least six school shooting false alarms across the country debunked this week -- what's going on?

Numerous schools across the nation from California to Indiana to Georgia experienced active shooter false alarms and hoax threats Tuesday.

The multiple school shooting hoaxes coincidentally came on the same day as the start of Alex Jones’ Sandy Hook defamation trial, and as the trial of alleged Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school shooter Nikolas Cruz continues.

Update – Over a DOZEN School Shooting False Alarms Across Nation in 3 Days!

Update (9/14/22): We discovered at least four more false school shootings in Texas and Virginia that took place Tuesday we missed in our previous report yesterday, and learned of several additional false active shooter threats that happened in other states Wednesday.

Potential copycat killers just probing the system? For every determined killer there are probably 10+ wannabees...

Are there more guns being brought to school now or are we more just aware of the guns being brought to school? The increase noted below has a lot of weasel words, like “brandished or fired” or “bullet hits school property”. The “K-12 School Shooting Database” brings to mind people (students, non-students) shooting others during school hours or an on-campus student event, but can include totally unrelated events - a bullet hole discovered in a school window by the Janitor early Monday before school starts. The database authors notes “Partial or complete inclusion, on the other hand, will increase the number of reported incidents, but likely cause an overreaction among political, security, and societal stakeholders” but chooses to be widely inclusive.

The data are actually not available on the website referenced but can be requested. I’ve sent a request.

Far more guns have turned up in U.S. schools during the first two months of this school year compared with recent years, according to the nonprofit Gun Violence Archive, which tracks news accounts and police reports. The archive documented more than 220 gun seizures in August and September across 35 states, up from 128 in the same period last year and 132 in 2019. Many schools were remote in fall 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Reports of gun violence—where guns are brandished or fired in schools, or a bullet hits school property, including during nights and weekends—also are up this calendar year. Through Tuesday, the nonprofit K-12 School Shooting Database listed 224 incidents, compared with 182 at the same point in 2021. Nearly half of this year’s incidents, 103, had at least one shooting victim, according to the database.

….As real incidents have gone up, so have fake ones. Schools nationwide are contending with a rash of so-called swatting, or hoax 911 calls about bogus active shooters, said the National Association of School Resource Officers. Since Sept. 9, the nonprofit group said, it has tracked reports of swatting incidents in at least 17 states and the District of Columbia.

….They say more guns also are being found due to random searches and a willingness by students to alert adults about firearms after the mass shooting last May in Uvalde, Texas, that killed 19 elementary school students and two teachers
