While I am endlessly awaiting my class a permit,(seven weeks and counting), I had been looking into the SD series from S&W along with the M&P's. I called the shooting center today and they informed me that the SD's will not be sellable in MA due to their 8 lb trigger pull. But of course it's ok to buy a 10 lb. M&P and immediatley modify it down to 5 or 6 lbs. or whatever you want, I guess.
These MA laws are completely rediculous. It's too bad that it has to be this way.
So based on MA stupidity and ignorance, why can't I buy the 8 lb. SD and modify it up to ten lb. and then modify it again down to 5 or 6? At the end of the day, I have what I want and either way, it works out to the same end result.
What a bunch of idiots we have in power.

They're doing you a favor by not allowing you to buy that gun.

The only upshot to the SDs is they take preban sigma mags. I have no idea whether or not the trigger is still as s**ty as the sigmas, though.

That wasn't the answer I found when I looked in to it when they were first announced. Do you know this for sure?

Someone on NES stated that the mags were compatible, it's just that the basepad was different. I also just found similar info on other websites. I guess I would look for someone that has actually tested them in their SD....

The people at the SSC usually don't know anything about pending approvals - I expect to see the SD models approved on the EOPS roster within the next year.

'Course, I'll be out of here in less than that time.
