Loaded some 45acp with a 230 grain cast lead bullet and BE-86. I'm starting at 5.6 and working up to 7. Looking for a mild load about 800 fps.
I shot the loads today out of a Colt 1911 and it looks like it will be 6.2 or 6.4. I'll shoot them out of the N frame S&W. I think it's a model 1951. It's whatever came before the model 25.
I just pulled it out of the safe. It's a model 1955. It looks exactly like what Clint Eastwood carried in the Dirty Harry movies but it's in 45acp instead of 44 magnum
6.2 it is.

Verification
