What is the finish on the S&W 442 and 438?

I know the 642 and 638 are stainless finish with allloy frame. What are the 442 and 438? They are black but not blued.

The aluminum is paint, the steel BBL/cylinder is blued.

The aluminum is ANODIZED not painted.

Much tougher than paint and better looking too.
