I am in the South Bay Boston this week for the PAX gaming convention at the BCEC. Spent a few minutes taking with some folks who live in the area about 2A rights, and they wanted to know more about their rights as a gay couple.

Aimed them at the Pink Pistols Website and as we were leaving the restaurant, a woman yelled "Stop that guy on the bike" and there was a man on one of those BCBS Rental bikes with a neon pink anime style backpack in his hands just about to pass me.

I clotheslined him off the bike and a couple members of Boston PD appeared out of thin air.

They returned the bag to the woman, then severely admonished me for "getting involved when it wasn't my stuff" and "supporting the notion that self-help works"

They then let the guy go with a ticket and told me to lay low out of sight to avoid retribution.

What a messed up world.

I remember a time when a good Boston cop would hit the miscreant with a blackjack in the head and cuff the SOB. Wasn’t that long ago.

See, the thing is, if I had to actually come to blows with the individual, I have this annoying problem where my body decides to layer scar tissue which calcifies onto old injuries.

My right hand has the consistency of a brick if I were to punch with it. I do serious damage.

I don't start fights, but as my grandfather taught me, I will damn well finish them.

Same, but also my feet, elbows, knees, forearms, and especially shins.

I only hope and it's really just that, hope that this mindset doesn't take place in other states. That this is just a blue state thing.

Ive been itching to use this meme. View attachment 735596
I am far from a badass. I just happened to be in the right place, right time, and right mindset, since I had JUST finished talking with the folks sitting next to me about not using too much force.

You lost me at Pax gaming convention, gay couple and Pink Pistol website. Whoah 😁
Hey, get with the times.

I have been going to PAX for nearly 10 years.

Gay couples are a real thing.

The Pink Pistols aim (no pun intended) to teach folks from the gay (and gay adjacent) communities about their Second Amendment rights with the core premise "Armed Gays don't get bashed"

You might not agree with how they live, but if they are doing no actual harm to anyone else, then they have the exact same rights granted by the creator, or if you prefer, the same natural rights, as anyone else, inclusive of reasonable self defense.

The more folks educated about their rights, the better for the 2A community.

"supporting the notion that self-help works"
it is odd you did not get arrested for resisting a successful robbery.
welcome to socialism. there was no worst crime there in ussr than to show to the police that you were capable to stand up for yourself.

it has very deep roots, as any thief is a socially relatable class, close to the workers and proletariat, while anyone who has courage must be eliminated by all costs. only obedient ones are allowed. as today you strike a thief, and tomorrow you may strike a cop who hits your wife in public, and that is a big no-no. you hitting a cop, of course.

on a serious note - it is quite an official policy now to allow petty crimes go unpunished, in all big cities. an absolutely deliberate policy, with all the proper justifications and enforcement by DAs.

Relax. I'm just poking fun. Take a step back and read your post. While the story is serious, the background leading up to it is kind of funny.

Self help: 1, law enforcement showed up to tag the body.

Background details totally took the story in another direction. Maybe get them a practice pistol?

Looks to me like self-help DOES work.

Remember kids - when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Shoulda told the jerkoff cop, that if you ever see one of his brothers in blue getting curbstomped, you will take his advice.

“Let him go with a ticket”?

Wtf… guy problemly went on to his next victim within the hour
If I had to guess I would say that guy went to one of the many personal injury attorneys that would love to bring a civil suit against the OP. I hope that the police didn’t get his name. It might sound like a bs case, but, there are attorneys out there who will literally bring a case just to settle for $3,000, which is like winning the lottery to a lot of people.

Still, good for the OP. Too bad the perp didn’t smash his worthless skull on the concrete. You would have ended dozens of future crimes and taken a worthless piece of sh*t out of society’s gene pool, though he probably already blasted inside of some equally worthless skank.

I remember when that was the Penny Arcade Expo, not that long ago they changed the name to PAX.

Imagine if the bag was actually his and you assaulted a random guy.
Yeah, but I don't think someone who owned the bag would be holding it with one hand while trying to pedal a bike. Pretty sure they would have a back pack on their back, not bouncing off the side of the front tire.

Years ago turning the corner to our street in South Boston when I saw two people just past the intersection, fighting. A handbag flying clued me to the fact that it was a man and woman.

They were both drunks. Restrained the guy between two cars while another bystander called 911. Long story short, guy tried to leave and I slugged him, knocking him down. He stayed there.

Squad car and a detective showed up a couple minutes later. Detective interviewed the other bystander and I. Explained what happened, and then noted I’d slugged the guy when he tried to leave.

The detective responded by saying “Thanks for stopping.” The official report made no mention.

The perp plead as soon as his lawyer learned a witness was present. Sentenced to 90 days jail, suspended if he attended a 30 day treatment program.
