What's your favorite .22 LR rifle? (Non semi auto)

Tough one as I have a couple dozen .22's :). Right now my favorite is my CZ 457 MTR. The 457 has allot of improvements over previous gens. 60 deg bolt throw, slide safety, removeable bolt knob, upgraded adjustable trigger.......Beautiful gun, sub 1# trigger and match chamber. Shoots very tight groups when fed decent ammo.

CZ 457... tack driver. Put it in an XLR Element 3.0 chassis. Sold the Tikka T1x. Now I'm waiting on a Bergara B14R steel barreled action in lefty. I have an MPA comp chassis waiting for it.

My nostalgic favorite? My father's Mossberg M42-C(M), which was the first gun I ever shot, at the age of 3. It's in my safe. It's tied with my grandfather's Model 62 Winchester pump (also in my safe).

My C&R favorite? A Polish Wz.48 .22 trainer, because it has a long barrel, a matchlock-esque lock time, but his hella accurate if you do your part and follow through.

The Crickett is also a lot of fun. I love guns that are challenging, rewarding, and cheap.

I only own 2 - 22 rifles.
M&P 15-22 & a Henry Golden Boy, so I have to say my favorite is the Henry.

I would love to get a CZ and will when I come across one.

my first Appleseed i brought an old tube fed bolt action, using McDonalds straws for speed loaders...needless to say i failed miserably.
Should have used shorts , you would have not needed to reload, lol
My dad was a master at loading tube guns. Pulled rounds from his pocket and just shook them right in like magic!

Bolt you say? Savage B22 FV-SR in a Boyd’s stock. Appleseed patch getter.View attachment 533076
Good looking rifle! The B22's are very fine shooters too. Just grabbed this one last month in a factory MTD chassis. It will do 5 shot , dime sized groups at 50 yds with good ammo when I do my part.

Winchester 1890 Octagon barrel gallery gun, shoots only shorts.
Remington 581, plain-Jane cousin of the 541, just as accurate.

I had to look up the Winchester. Pump action? I would love to see a pic of yours. That looks like a very cool gun.
That is actually the rifle that made me start this thread. I love taking older guns apart and seeing how simple the designs are. I think the biggest downfall of the Winchester 1890 is that it is 22 Shorts only.

Winchester Model 67 is another simple design that I like. Taking the bolt apart makes me laugh as to how simple it is.

This thread needs a Bergara 14R. It runs neck and neck with my CZ457 MTR for accuracy and is a joy to shoot. Mine (CF barrel version) was producing one hole 50 yd groups with SK Biathlon Match today.

but how many shots and how big is that one hole......[pot]

I put a big ass Barska on this and use 1" shoot-n-see stickers on a 100yd range. It gets boring when you keep hitting the center

Of all my .22's I really like my Mossberg 35B. It was made in 1938 and has a 3/4'' Mossberg scope on it. I can hit a golf ball at 100 yards all day long with it. I'd like to adjust the scope to 50 yards and see how well it groups, but I'm afraid it will mess it up and not be good at 100 yards any more. I even shot it at 200 yards and was consistently hitting a guys prairie dog target with it. I was aiming at the wire holding the steel targets which was probably 8-10 feet above the ground. He was looking through a spotting scope and said it was rocking the target a couple inches with each hit.
