so, i am a glock person, but, let`s forget of G20/40 for a sec. it is too obvious of a choice, and will be bought eventually, anyway, as it`s a glock.

i want to look at the heavier options here, of what is out there that is worth having long term, and, ideally, under a $2k budget.

what i know of -

CZ 97BD - overall seems to be great, but, has apparently some issues with some ammo - failures to load and stuck rounds, which is odd.
Tanfoglio Match Extreme 10mm - know nothing of, except of some praising reviews and one not so praising response on some other forum, so, a mixed bag.
Wilson Combat Tactical Elite 10mm - the perfection, but way above $2k limit.
Colt delta elite 10mm - all kinda checks out, but, boring?
sig 220 goes to hell straight away, same as rock island tac, don`t care of either one.

what else is out there that can outshoot or at least be comparable with wilson?

What are you going to compete in that you need a 10mm?
nowhere, most likely. :) and, i do not _need_ it. i _want_ it. potentially. it is all theoretical, so, do not jump me.
but, really - a pin shoot, perhaps? i just want a 10mm gun that will be on par with my 9mm CZ shadows.
something heavy, smooth, and extremely accurate. a 5.5"-6" barrel, ideally.

I know you said forget about Glock, but G40... I have one and love it. Is as accurate as I can shoot it.

if i`ll start stocking up 10mm ammo - the glock(s) will materialize eventually... like i said, it is just too obvious of a choice, but not a bad choice.
i am asking to find out of what else - potentially new - is out there now in that segment.

Paul are you in westford? You want to try my sig 220 10mm elite?

no, i am closer to fram, i did shoot/try a 10mm legion. it is a fair gun, but, it is not what i want.
really, ideally, i want a shadow 2 in 10mm. but, it does not exist. :) i went over quite a number of 9mm guns until i settled on the cajunized cz, and i like it a lot.
that is why i am kinda interested about 97BD, but reviews are mixed. and i am also not sure if those 97BDs are close to shadows quality wise.

the real question is why do you want to throw away money marginally faster by competitively shooting 10mm vs 9mm?
If you want a more of a kick or snap why not go with the marginally cheaper and easier to get 40s&w?
Because pins actually care about mass and velocity. 45 is the traditional favorite at that game. Anything 40 can do 10 can do better... especially since he reloads

Dan Wesson Specialist, Valor* Or SA TRP 10mm...if you want something a little less expensive but still competent.... pick your trims.

*not sure if they're making them these days... all DW tough to come by.

good jokes are greatly appreciated - it is like a $9K thing now, the decent condition bren ten? :)

so you liked a delta elite a lot?

PS. but this thing is sooo sexy. :)
I did. I mean, I like 1911s. It's that with bigger grips for my big hands, and barely more recoil.

I have the 97B non decocker in 45 it has become one of my favorites but I’m no expert I’m still new at this. They are getting harder to find now because they have been discontinued in the 45

I like my P220 Elite SAO. The 10 MM is something that lends itself to handloading. In unrelated news, the Sig P320 in 10mm should have a Mass Compliant version out this fall.

Ironically that's the only 10mm they make that i don't like. Mainly because i don't think theres enough 4 and 5in 10mms out there. I wish theyd make the Bobtail Commander again....
so you ok with a kodiak, but not a bruin? why no?

i mean - i have not heard anything negative much about bruin, really. other than the price, really.

Too long, i want guns that are carryable in a pinch. Not into the deck gun thing. Too many 10mms with target sights. Even w/ "no carry" id still rather have a 5".

@paul73 although with 45 i was tempted at times to build a 6in pin gun, but... couldn't justify. Especially considering one of the best pin shooters i know destroyed people with a stock german P220..... 🤣

I would love a sig 320 xcarry in 10mm.
There is a new 320 xten, 5” barrel optics ready.
Meh. It is not a bad gun at all, just, meh. Trigger meh, barrel meh, FCG meh. It’s a sig.
Dunno how to say it - it just lacks refinement. Conceptually.

Plus, probably, costs comparably to a kodiak.

Glock needs to give their G20 the Gen5 MOS treatment to be taken seriously.

Don't get me wrong, I like my G20 and it is my carry in the woods gun, but they are way behind in updating this thing.

Wanna shoot my DW Pm10-s next time I see you around da club? I believe its before CZ?
Sure thing, just dunno when I going to be there next. Pm10-s are pre CZ, sure, does not make them any bad. Would love to try it, I will ping you if I make up my mind.

It is odd - may be 2 pin design is not strong enough for 10mm, go figure why they refuse to make a gen5 models there.

G20 is my home defense & 'truck gun' in states where legal; OWB carry here in MA. Typical crap striker-fired Glock trigger but it's accurate and goes bang every time. I'm using a KKM barrel in it.

I think you'd be happy with the Delta Elite. WAY better trigger right out of the box and you could easily improve it with an aftermarket trigger. No trouble to carry if you wanted to.
