So.......this might be like asking for medical advise (sorry, couldn't help it) but.....

I REALLY like the 1911 platform and currently have a S&W E Series 1911TA (this is a full size 5" model, all stainless steel, heavy and fun to shoot), a S&W 1911Sc ( scandium frame, 4.25" barrel, light, fun to shoot and nice to look at, all black) and a S&W 1911Pro in 9mm ( full size, SS, heavy, shoots like a 22 and very fun).

Thanks to a member on here I will have some extra cash to consider a 4th 1911 purchase as of tomorrow, any suggestions??...about buying a new 1911...please...someone already suggested I go to he$$ today so that's not required.

Looking forward to your feedback [grin]

You need a S&W Performance Center 1911 or reach out to a different brand. Your choice include Colt, Kimber, Springfield Armory, Ed Brown, Les Baer....yada yada...

S&W brand is not the LV (Louis Vuitton) of 1911.

If you love 1911's get a custom build. You get the best of all the features YOU want. But be prepared to wait and spend more $.

I was thinking around $1,500 but can wait and save up for something really special

Then get an original save the money up and get yourself something that started the whole history of a 1911. It will be a collectors price but hey got to live. I have wanted one for a very long time but cannot handle the expense. Sounds like you on the other hand may be able to make it happen.

Buy a nice Springfield, TRP's are nice and can be bought in that price range. Or, like everyone else said, save your money and buy a custom. I am still paying for a custom i bought...

personally i'd go with a Colt 21st century commander Wiley Clapp edition. They look sweet in person. Zero hour has one right now and if i didn't buy my ACR yesterday i would have definitely bought that.

If you have 3500.00 or so you could have something like this built.
Fired 2000 rounds or so and if I handed you this pistol, you would think it was unfired.
The fit and finish is that perfect, and also made all adjustments before it was sent out for Ion-Bond,
The 2000 rounds were after finishing, and around 700 give or take before.
Pistol was built by Millenium Custom II in Lake Worth Florida.
You could spend more, but this was at my top end of affordability.

What are the specs? I just sold a gun built by derek

STI Frame and Slide in carbon steel
Shuemann Barrel
Ed Brown internals and Safeties
Aftec Extractor
Heinie Straight 8 Sights--Tritium
10-8 Trigger- Milled for smooth face
Thats as much as I can recall from memory as the build sheet is some where in the bowels of the safe. (I think)

Wow that's a pretty gun! Looks like black ops stuff. Absolutely beautiful. That cost as much my bulkhead we just had installed. Lol
