Thinking about buying an A3 stock for one of my MP5's. But of course, it needs to be welded so it cannot collapse.

Anyone know of gunsmiths that will do it?

Why not just get a standard stock? The A3 is uncomfortable as **** and the only good thing about it is that it collapses. One stuck in the permanently open position just seems to me like "infinite fruity mc gay gay achievement unlocked".

This is kinda like having an underfolder AK with the stock pinned open.... /shudder. makes a chill run down my spine. [laugh]

Just my .02.....

I have an A2 on my MP% but would like an A3 for the MP5K to make it more badass. I'm willing to sacrifice some comfortableness on that particular firearm. The K doesn't look good with an A2.

No need to weld, pinned meets the Mass. regulation.

What exactly is the difference between pinning and welding? Can pinning be undone if I move to a more friendly state?

I didn't know it was a K.... the other option is you could get the choate folder that is seen/used on most Ks and pin it open.

Right, pinning insured that the stock can not easily be collapsed and concealed. The pin can be removed with tools and some minor disassembly. Welded items can also me I welded for a change of the comp or even the front sight block on an AR. It's all about making the rifle less convertible on the fly ( I guess) I never have figured out how this changes anything for a criminal.

Would you be capable of doing such a thing?

Mike speaks the truth. I owned an MP5 that came with an A3 stock. I immediately took it off. If you are doing executive protection and want to hide the gun under your coat, it may make sense. But in all other situations, its terrible. Welding an A3 stock gives you the worst of all worlds.
