I really like the idea of a 9mm defensive revolver. While I'm not a huge Ruger fan, their LCR series in my opion out shines the S&W J frames.... replaceable front sight, better trigger out of the box....

I have owned small revolvers before, and I shoot them well, bit they never stay long because of ammo. I have no desire to reload .38spcl, but I reload 9mm and .40 by the 10k's

This gun feels great in the hand, but I'm looking to hear from those with some good range time their opion in this gun

I have one and I love it but, I'm an LCR fan. The 9mm replaced my 38 LCR. I also have 357 and 22LR LCRs. It shoots great, very accurate. The moon clips are easy to load and unload. The short 9mm rounds are much easier to load and eject than long 357s. You do have to watch out for crimp jump with the ammo. Not everything is going to work. I still have to find a good way to carry my extra loaded moon clips.

i am also an LCR fanboy.

got a chance to fondle the 9mm model but didn't fire it.
one thing i noticed it weighs heavier like the .357 version....i think 17ish oz. AFAIK it has the beefier frame similar to the .357 model.
the .38sp model is 13ish oz, which i freaking amazing.

my question then is that if i'm going w the heavier model then why not stick w .357 so i can shoot both .357 (which smokes 9mm) and .38sp?

just my 2c. YMMV.

9mm ammo is available in a tremendous variety and is some of the most reasonably priced ammo you can buy. The performance from the LCR in 9mm is comparable to subcompact semi with a 3.5" barrel. If you are a reloader (like me) and you are going to pick only one, get the 357. Personally I think you should get BOTH ;-)

Thanks guys.

In regards to .357 and .38spcl, I just have no desire to add another cartridge to my reloading press. Yes, .357 is better than 9mm, bit I already load 15,000 rounds of 9mm a year so I don't want to add .357.... .357 is useless to me.

I have worked pretty hard to get a system down of things that I shoot and things that I'll reload for so if it's not 9mm, 40s&w 5.56 or .300blk I'm not interested

I have read test results that show that the NEWER 9mm's perform as well as 38+p and just slightly bellow .357

Due to improvements to ammo, mostly over the last decade.

I like that it's a 9 but you are restricted to moonclips for reloads unless you want to push each cartridge out of the barrel individually. I find moonclips cumbersome to carry vs speed strips.
