Will a tightened belt hurt the shape of an empty leather IWB holster?

I recently started using my first IWB leather holster. The mouth of the holster is reinforced to make one handed holstering easier. I read somewhere (FAQ of some holster maker's website I think) that it is bad to wear an empty leather IWB holster with a tightened belt. When I drive, I transfer my pistol to a holster that is mounted to my car seat because I can't draw from my right hip while I'm in the car. Do you think that it is a problem for the shape of the holster to leave it empty under a normal fitting belt?

If you can, loosen the belt a notch or two after you take the pistol out.

For some reason I find IWB holsters much less comfortable when they are empty than when there is a pistol in them.

It seems to collapse my UBG IWB... I take the holster off if I'm not going to have the gun in it for long periods of time (like at work when the gun is in my drawer).
