I venture to guess two scenarios.

1. It will lead to confiscation via politcons
2. Local PD’s will refuse to comply west of 495 to support the Constitution and Bill of Rights. You guys right of 495 fugettaboutit!
3. Number 1 overpowers option 2

I am always hesitant to register a gun due to the nagging feeling that it will end in disarming the populace. I still do even though I have that forboding.

Owners are registered in MA so it makes little functional difference. "They" will assume you have guns because you're marked anyways.

Confiscation? Yeah, this is the same state that takes like 2 years to pass a pro moonbat bomb components bill, I'm sure those geniuses are coming up with a
confiscation plan right now... one that they plan on not paying for, which means that it will do functionally nothing. Not saying it can't or won't happen, hardly, but most of the doomsday scenario stories are just mental masturbation.

I'm thinking cops won't be sent door to door to confiscate guns and if they were, we'd have a few ugly incidents and they'd end the practice.

I think they'd pass legislation linking firearms to such things as your drivers license and then revoke your license if you didn't turn them in.

The chief will review all of the LTC applications and select those who requested all lawful purposes, or anything besides shooting at paper. He will come to the conclusion that you may use the gun to defend yourself. Since that would cause harm to others, he will file an ERPO against you, and send the police to come pick up your guns.

All perfectly legal.

Anything is possible.

All likely scenarios. The other question is what kind of fight between the local/regional PD’s and the Boston elite class will occur?

Yeah show up at your door and “give me the gunzzzzz”

Did something happen or get announced that brings up this topic? Or is it an everyday justified concern that they will be coming for our guns?

We've already had a few of those. No major changes.

Potential headline, Globe:
"Alt-Right Nazi Mentally Ill Racist Homophobic White Male CIS Terrorist Supremacists Shot While Brandishing Illegal Arsenals of Cached Fully Semi-Automatic Assault Murder Kill Military Bump Rifles"

I laughed at that but it has such an element of truth to it that I'm shaking my head. I never thought I'd see days like these where the media lies and villifies law abiding citizens like it's doing every night.

I never considered this but that sounds like exactly the kind of thing that they would do...

[laugh][laugh][laugh] If you truly suspect that gun confiscation might be coming, isn't that a reason not to register your guns? That's sort of the whole point of the 2nd Amendment.

I used to feel the same way until two things happened:

1, Maura’s 7/20 edict.
2. Bumpstock confiscation.

Those two things got my attention in regards to what is actually possible for the state to do.

Do I think confiscation will happen? No not full confiscation but they have now proven that they will confiscate and that some will comply and some will not. The ones that don’t comply will get picked off one by one when they draw attention to themselves.

Neither of those things are functionally any different vs the crap we've been dealing with since 1998.

I agree that they aren’t functionally any different in what they do but the way they accomplished it really got my attention.

That the AG can just redefine existing law and functionally ban entire classes of weapons AND that the FBI accepts that as settled law is bad enough. When you add to it that they can just require you to turn over your property or send you to jail brings this to a new level that I haven’t seen before.

Yeah I know bumpstocks are junk but it isn’t the point. They threw the bill of rights in the trash and didnt even try to hide it.

The state will demand people turn them in like the UK and Australia did. The compliance rate will be in the single digits as it was in the NY Safe Act registration scheme and others.

After awhile some moron might call for the PDs or MSP to go knocking. Maybe they bag a few people, others may move their stuff out of state and flip the bird at Maura in court. Maybe someone gets straight up murdered in a giant clusterf*** by a stompy boot MUH AUTHORITAH!!11 department in some a**h*** jurisdiction like Brookline, Longmeadow, or Watertown. This results in the police unions saying, "no way we are bothering to enforce this unless someone has warrants for other stuff". Most other whittling away enforcement is done by other coercive means like taxes. Eventually SCotUS does something to ratchet the state back or the state goes full authoritarian retard in which case there will likely be other social issues that cause a civil war type scenario to happen anyway.

looking forward to jail and getting out from under the thumb of the utility companies and banks. 3 free meals, hot showers, a warm space, free tv and the company of like minded criminal neighbors. save my 1.50/hr. raking leaves in the exercise yard and maybe buy me a boat when i get out, and more guns.

If they come to take them, you better start using them. If you are not willing to use them, then you might as well not have them in the first place!

Truth!
Tsaernaev (sp?) has Direct TV and access to yoga videos to do in his cell.
I don’t even have cable!

If a cop shows up to confiscate my guns, I'm not going to start shooting. That's a battle I won't win. They'll end up walking off with some of my guns.

There's a gazillion reasons why you should comply, all the socialists recently elected or nearly elected across the country tells you you'd be in a loosing battle. How could you ever win against the strongest country in the world? Huh, seems to me I've heard that before.
