Will Sig P226 mags fit a Sig P229?

Just ant to know if all prebans( 15 rd) for the P226 will fit the P229 in 9mm? I understand that they will extend past the grip though.....

That's correct, and the other way does NOT work. P229 mags don't fit into a P226.
