This, 100%. Door to door confiscation would trigger a war that the gov would lose. They are not stupid. They will boil the frog very slowly, which is why it's so important to not give in to even the slightest infringement.
They will make sure that the cable stays on and the EBT cards stay loaded while they wipe out the constitution entirely. I sincerely doubt that any of us would recognize our nation in 100 years.

Politicians need producers of revenue. As they are bringing nomads in to replace "the ageing population" they will be eliminating citizen's rights at the same time. GIVE THEM NOTHING!

These people are not stupid as you say. They want more laws (way more than they can ever dream of enforcing) to keep the populace at bay through fear and intimidation. As I have said, there is no way to enforce all these laws that they have on the books, so they get to use "prosecutory discretion" and only charge those that are their political or ideological enemies. All the while asking for MOAR resources (read more money) to enforce all of these lawrs.

First, this is all a distraction to keep you gnashing your teeth about gun rights while they do other stuff behind your back via regulatory changes. Note that Obama has been outstanding in growing the power and scope of government extra-legally with little resistance from either the Republicans or the public.
Second, the wussification of the young is such that by the time your grandchildren or great-grandchildren are adults, most Americans will know that guns are unnecessary, that Christianity and the US are the greatest causes of evil in the world, and they will be grateful for a robust government that treats them well and looks out for them as they toil to produce our natural resources for shipment to our overlords in China.
They don't even need to take our guns. They can just wait until we die and our kids will turn them in. I talked to someone recently who was telling me that they 'turned in' their father's M1 when he died because they didn't want a weapon in their house. Guy fought at Normandy. /facepalm

Yesterday, I visited my old friend in Winchester. Former pilot. Went to Korea. He is 89 years old in a great shape. Lives alone but he is very active and participates in many things. He has told me that America after Second Wold War started sucking wind and what we have now is something he can't comprehend. He said that in 1940 17-years old was and adult. Today, 50-years old man is a baby. He also said that back then it was important to get somewhere. Today, it is important to be everywhere. He has told me that when he is outside of his home he feels like he is visiting a movie set full of colorful characters without any parts to play.
Yep, my family came to America for freedom. There's nowhere else to run to now that we're here. Stand and fight.

Same here. I am very tired. I survived communism, but the devastation from both, communism and socialism, is still everywhere and now we have it here also. I survived jihadists in refugee camps when Austrian police was afraid to tell them anything because they wanted to keep their heads. It was very tough. Back then they were not jihadists but they were freedom fighter supported by America. They did not give a hoot about America. They wanted to change the world. They were cutting heads, frying people, and we were beating the crap out of them anyway because we had no protection form them. The entire world was blind and the entire world gave them weapons and technology to fight us!.....Anyway......I am tired from fighting ambitious idiots and liars like Hillary. You like them? Marry them and make sure you do not have prenup in place. I am done.
When I realized that America can't escape global socialism and global jihadism I picked up few languages and I am ready to move at the moment notice. Life is too short to f around and I paid my dues. Others feel like they know better, let them run it into the ground.
What's left from America is bunch of egos. No unity, no ability to fight.

We will have a civil war, imo, but not the way you describe. I think it'll be started by some big event, likely another Great Depression. The country is already extremely divided and angry, and when the Depression hits, and people see how the big banks and government are the only ones with jobs, still living it up, while the rest of the country is living on food stamps, that'll trigger civil unrest. The government might fuel the fire by going after guns and cranking up taxes on the working classes.
I was invited to my kid's high school to talk about Sarajevo. I explained to them that the civil war I knew was not about fathers protecting families and fighting other fathers protecting their families, as they may know from history lessons. The civil war in this century or the last century is exclusively about individuals participating in obviously evil deeds to save their butts only. I have told them that during the day helicopters dropped leaflets on the streets asking all men to join "liberation army" in the woods. At night many men ran from their families so they can start bombing their own houses in the morning. I did not have guts to tell them that these men were all inspired by Rambo movies and they even looked like Rambo. When they were done bombing, they got themselves a new family going somewhere else. I also told them about revolutions and how revolutions kill best people in any nation and replace them with idiots.
Needless to say, I was never invited back. I was too militant, one 26 years old teacher told to my kid.

Two things to consider, first they will be shooting at their own families and second, both need to land and refuel.
Give new Mayor of London some time. He will show us how it will be done. They all have the same receipt. We already elected Obama and allowed him to prepare the ground. 8 years he was working on us so we became soft and mushy. We picked up new politically correct language and now we EVEN BLAME OUR SELFISH DESIRE TO DEFEND OUR FAMILIES for attack on our citizens. We became sheep. I'm the Christian this president talk about clinging to my Bible and guns, I will do what I need to do as a man protecting his kin and way of life.
I believe this revolution started the day this man got in office, just so many are still dancing with the Stars or comparing the batting averages.
And this isn't a dig against anyone here for that, I'm guilty of my hobbies. Just to many people are not paying attention to see they are cattle or sheep.

the question you pose is the exact reason why the left is anti-2A. because they want full control and to be sure a civil war or revolution isn't possible.

I agree it would be the death by 1000 cuts approach to disarmament but they could easily make a stupid miscalculation, like a nationwide SAFE Act which would result in the same level of disobedience as in NY. Then they'd be in a position where they'd have to advertise their impotence to the nation OR go full retard and start the raids. There's a decen chance the latter would trigger some resistance but hard to say if it would be a critical mass type thing.

Not an unknown at all. Most will abandon their posts and take their equipment with them. Revolution or Civil War-same thing now. It will be the .gov in power vs a civilian populace. Much like we see in Iraq/Afghanistan- a population with some AKs and the Hajji equivalent to Radio Shack has managed to keep the mighty US military at bay. Add to this a 25% veteran population with military training, a fair portion of which with various degrees of combat experience and 20x the small arms, and the .gov doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell. It will be over quicker than you think. The longest time will be organizing.
