I just borrowed a Model 50 to attempt spring turkey hunting. There is no choke tube in the gun and after patterning the gun the shot patterns is really not dense enough to use for turkeys. Both at 35 adn 25 yards. Does anyone know if the Model 50 can take a choke tube and if so any recomendations. Thanks all...

Then it wont take a choke tube. Have you researched it to see if that model comes with tubes. I did not look it up.

Are there any markings on the barrel to indicate the choke. My guess would be that somewhere it says "MOD" for modified. You need a full choke to get good patterns.

There are several gunsmiths around the country that can thread your barrel for choke tubes, and you can usually specify whose choke tube threads you want them to use. So you could have your Model 50 threaded to take Winchokes (Winchester's standard 12 gauge bore choke tube design).
