This is an older P 38 storage and shipping container. These came to the U. S. in the late 1980's to early 1990's from Germany when P.38's were sold as obsolete inventory and imported into the U.S. I believe that this box was part of the lot imported by The Old Sacramento Armory.
The steel box dimensions are 17" long x 20 1/4" wide x 10 1/4" high.
