Hard to get too upset about one of them getting arrested for protesting.
It's the crack-heads, gun-runners, rapists, etc... among that group that are a genuine concern.

If it were only Constitution Rape they'd be ahead of where they are now, but Bloomberg has assembled a merry band of criminals with that group. Quite a few with impressive records (as Prohibited Persons)
The Dem's and liberal groups in NC are VERY butt hurt over the election results of '10 and '12 in NC. The R's took control of the legislature for the first time since the 1850's or something in '10 and extended it to a veto proof margin in '12 and took the Governor spot too. They run the show completely and the d's can't stop anything. They are not handling it very well at all.
NC has always voted for R's for president and mostly for Senate. But with congressmen and NC state legislature seats, the D's had the majority since the 1800's and they gerrymandered the heck out of the districts and until '10 managed to keep the majorities. But after obamacare, et al. the D's were killed in NC and after '10 was the redistricting from the new census. The R's turned the tables and the D's have been killed since.
Nationally the R's haven't done great in the Senate battles or POTUS but on the state levels in most areas, they have large margins.

It's not really guns in NC. It's everything. The D's have zero power there, the R's pass whatever they want as they have super majorities in the legislature and have the Gov office too. So the unions, enviro wacko's, race mongers, etc. are flipping out because bills are passing and being signed and they cannot do a single thing about it.

And here I was hoping that Lawrence Mayor Willie Lantigua got himself clipped by the feds, but alas, he's not a member of MAIG. That group is probably too honest for Lantigua.

If they can't have it, they'll fight to take it away from everybody else too.
Think that they'll switch sides if we promise them to allow any person who is not currently in jail to carry, criminal record or not?
Maybe the D's will figure out that's what happens when they shit on their constituents.
Then again, probably not.
At least publicly, their leadership is still trying to sell that this is "big money" and "the NRA" doing this rather than the reality we've seen which is that they woke the dragon, poked the bear, etc...
A whole new group of people are out there "getting involved" that they are unaccustomed to seeing.
