Your New Knife!

I'm a corporate shill that lost my spyderco para 3 and just got my first legion, so this is my new knife

Just received a Cold Steel SRK in SK-5 steel today.

My first impression is: Thick blade with a nice edge (7/10) Handle is the real win though. Feels like I could hold it forever.
Great knife, so far, for $42 bucks...

Reminds me of a fallkniven or whatever. Would love to see one in person. Can't justify $100+ on a knife I'll probably never need and would worry about "hurting"

I owned one of those many, many moons ago. I wanted to like it, but the blade was just too thick. I gave it to a friend, and he got a lot of use out of it, so it's all good.

Glad you like yours! I remember the handle did feel good.

The SRK is thick, but it’s a great knife for a get home bag which is where mine lives. Always have a smaller folder on me for any little tasks but it is nice to have a bigger knife available when needed.

Picked up the San Mai version recently just cause it was a good deal and got the Drop Forged Survivalist shown below at the same time just because it’s a little ridiculous and I could not resist.

Bit of a buying streak last week, lol.

First up is a Spyderco Kapara. THIS knife feels like it is worth the price tag. Fit, finish, and feel are amazing. Super thin, slicy blade... Gorgeous countoured carbon fiber. Lightweight, but feels substantial in the hand. Milling is perfect, centering is perfect, grind is perfect. My one small wish, is some traction on the CF. It's baby vutt smooth and soft, but man is it the prettiest CF I've ever seen.

Love the swoop on the blade spine! Looks like it would make a nice index finger rest while doing fine work with the tip.

I agree on the weave of the CF too. Sexy and mesmerizing at the same time.

Overall shape of the blade and body of the knife is superb...

Kudos!

The Kapara is a great knife, light for its size, excellent blade, and Spydie flicks so easy the fidget factor is thru the roof. It is always in the running for one of my favorite Spydercos.

That Spyopera is pretty sharp looking too, haven’t seen one in person yet but it looks on par with the fit and finish on the Kapara.

Spinning off on the Spyderco and Lionsteel tangent, new arrival today was the Lionsteel M4 in between two of my other favorite Spydercos.

Another new on this week. This little chode is the Damned Designs Djinn. I opted for the Blackwash TI scales and s35vn blade. It's a fun little frame lock front flipper and fidget toy that took a little file work on the lock bar insert and 12 hours of figeting to break in to it's current goodness. Slips easily into the coin pocket, which is perfect for when I have my little chode of a kel tec .380 in my main front pocket. And, unlike the .380, this one is GTG in NYC :).

Last new knife for the week (and for a little while). Cold Steel AD15. This thing is a beast. Like a beefy fixed blade that happens to fold. Really cool, super strong locking mechanism, that took me a little while and two cuts to master. But I bet I could cut down a tree with this thing! My first Cold Steel, and it's a tank for sure!
