I'm 7 months too, my house goes on the market March 4th getting out of this state!!!As of this week it's with the FRB. Does that mean that the local PD cleared it and now it just needs to be printed and mailed?
This is my wife's renewal and she doesn't want to make waves. Me, I will not play nice - submitted my renewal SEVEN months early in December and I'm going to hound them for it. Completely unacceptable that it's taking this long.
It's. Still. With. The. PD.Dropped off my renewal on 18 Dec. Just called DCJIS - my PD didn't even enter the application until February. They're supposed to issue it within 40 days and they took longer than that just to get it into the system. Wow!
finally received my renewal 9 months! good luckIt's. Still. With. The. PD.
Frankly, I don't care THAT much, as I can still carry after my LTC expires, and I can understand that they apparently have had a massive number of applicants, but it's mind boggling that they're blatantly ignoring the law. What actually does annoy me is that they once again told me that post-expiration I can carry but I can't purchase, which is blatantly false (@Len-2A Training can correct me if I'm wrong). Oh well, I'm not about to sue them so I'll keep on waiting.
send this to your state rep along with a copy of the law showing the 40 day deadline, and comment that even the 143 days is atypical and in most cases it's much longer.Stoneham, MA
Quite the doozy... Bold for highlights. Absolute clusterf***. I blame the state more so than anyone else. Local PD was awesome throughout the process - very cordial and conscientious.
Total days from prints to card in hand: 143
12/01/2023 - request for appointment with Stoneham PD (figerprints, etc)
12/13/2023 - PD call back for appointment schedule
01/13/2024 - PD Fingerprint date, 10 weeks turnaround time per processing officer
03/18/2024 - 1st call to FRB, said they never received application, were extremely rude
03/18/2024 - 1st call to SPD, provided an update from MIRCS, approved pending FRB activation
03/22/2024 - 10 week target date per LEO comes and goes
04/01/2024 - 04/12/2024 - check with FRB hotline 2x weekly, in a polite manner
04/12/2024 - "Activated pending delivery" per FRB
04/16/2024 - 05/28/2024 - Calls to FRB hotline (2x weekly), FRB themselves (two calls), and local PD (three calls). All polite, never sounding like I was annoyed.
05/15/2024 - Call to Jason Guida's office to explore legal options. Rather than answer, he brushed me off saying he "doesn't have a magic wand" and was generally c***y.
06/03/2024 - 15th call to FRB, got someone who knew what they were doing and indicated the license was mailed back in April (LMAO)
06/03/2024 - Left a message at SPD indicating the FRB said it was mailed in April
06/04/2024 - Callback from SPD that they have the license, was received on 6/3
06/04/2024 - Picked up LTC from local PD, verified it on the transaction portal once home
