This takes effect 6 months after the bill is passed, which means I will be outta here and safely back in the freedom loving South by the time it's in effect. I still plan on calling/writing/meeting with reps etc.

I need to hand-write a couple of letters once I have something more cogent sorted out to say than "this sucks". Setting aside the Constitution, civil rights, and all that, a simple reason it sucks is that the legislature should have better things to focus on than gratuitous culture war attacks on constituents they don't like. How well has that been working out for California and New York?Already emailed my legislators. I'll call them later, once I'm off work.
I just want the new signs to be more vague:Of course they have it a new bill number. Now we need new signs.
These people are incessant. Now to see what “changes” they’ve made…
no question about it. Like others have posted, I'm waiting to see of the Chiefs who publicly condemned this bill continue to do so.When was the last time a person who shot a cop with a gun had followed gun control laws? Just asking. For a dead friend. For reasons.
They don’t care about your rights, but they do care about the optics of losing in court, and the potential legal cost.
Nothing nearly so creative on their end.Of course they have it a new bill number. Now we need new signs.
I'm increasingly on board with the FPC's "F you, no." How's that for a jumping-off point?I need to hand-write a couple of letters once I have something more cogent sorted out to say than "this sucks". We're working on the plan of attack. Stickers and updated signs are on the table, more info very soon.@GOAL - is there updated artwork for "STOP HD.4607" signs yet? Will they be distributed in the same places? Any thoughts on stickers to update the existing 4420 signs?
Doesn't that make all your semi auto rifles AW's? Like the browning blr?Assault-style firearm”, any firearm which is:
(a) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle with the capacity to accept a detachable feeding device and includes any of the following features: (i) a folding or telescopic stock; (ii) a thumbhole stock or pistol grip; (iii) a forward grip or second handgrip or protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; (iv) a threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor or muzzle break or similar feature; or (v) a shroud that encircles either all or part of the barrel designed to shield the bearer’s hand from heat, excluding a slide that encloses the barrel.
that's just about everything folks!
...like a 10/22Doesn't that make all your semi auto rifles AW's? Like the browning blr?
Makes sense, the M1 is not a "weapon of war." /s...like a 10/22
Almost. I think the AR-7 and the M1 are safe. That might be it.
It's essentially the same definition as Highland Park uses. That worked out really well for them, right?Yes. The AWB definition is worse than any other state as currently written. All commonly used semi-auto rifles become illegal.
Thanks! I just made a donation above my membership and hope all in MA can chip in as these fights take cold hard cash. We're working on the plan of attack. Stickers and updated signs are on the table, more info very soon.

I am a $10 bucks a month supporter of COMM2A and they will get a donation from me as well.Lets not forget Comm2A either. They'll be the one leading the Lawsuit against it if it passes.
WTF is this other sh*t?Here we go, folks. This is hot off the press, and we're just digging in now. At 123 pages it looks like a slightly pared down version of the same garbage from before.
More to come.

Ware PD went pretty hard in the paint against 4420. Hopefully they do again for this new garbage.

Probably, but if so they need to be called out for their hypocrisy.I can pretty much guarantee that if there are LEO exemptions in the new one then they will give this one the big silent treatment. The only thing I could see them complaining about are any new provisions that cause them more work on licensing procedures, and even then I doubt they’ll complain if it doesn’t affect their officers. That was his big mistake the first time around, no exemptions for LEO. It was a moronic move.
Filed 10/4. Hearing 10/10...less than a week after announcement.Public hearing is on Tue, Oct 10th at 11:00AM.
Kinda like how the last bill was already written before they launched "the listening tour"Filed 10/4. Hearing 10/10...less than a week after announcement.
That sure sounds like they want public engagement.
I don't see this on the MA legislature site. Nothing about the document has a hearing/session.Filed 10/4. Hearing 10/10...less than a week after announcement.
