Steyr AUG M1 A3 Purchase

Hear they are nothing but problems and lack of parts makes it a pain to fix
No experience with the MSAR clones, plenty of experience with AUGs, including both Austrian and the new "US-made". Parts for semi-auto models are 100% interchangeable; spares are available (not cheap, but available).

Only problems I've had were FTE using cheap steel case ammo.
Would a ban-era Steyr USR be MA-legal?
Only 3,000 were imported in 1997, generally they don't sell for a premium now that BNIB model A3s are available to non-ban states.
Anybody know if the USR is legal in Massachusetts? It's an AUG redesigned specifically to work around AWB94.

The US made AUG stocks from the past few years have had problems with cracking around the take down button. Steyr USA will replace no questions asked. That's the only US centric defect I'm aware of.
