Ive never owned a 1911, and am planning to purchase one this fall as a wedding present to myself, solely funded off my knife sales between now and then. I will want to limit this to around $1200.
I am considering the following:
-Kimber Pro Raptor .45: I have lusted after this model ever since seeing it up at Rileys. I don't know why, but its the only 1911 that is burned into my brain style-wise.
-Springfield EMP in 9mm or .40: These look finely built, great for carry, but I havent talked to many people who have shot one.
-Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail in .40 or .45: I like guns that arent too common, own a Dan Wesson .44 and have heard nothing but good things about his 1911s. That being said, I haven't shot one.
Does anyone have any experience with any of these three, or better yet, has anyone shot any combination of them enough to make a comparison? I know they are all slightly different sizes and models, so that might not be very easy....
If anyone has any of these and is going to the July 4th members shoot, let me know so I can hunt you down and take a few pops...
