I have a remsport 1911 i just finished building, everything works fine, except... on frequent occation the feed ramp of the barrel catches the nose of the bullet on feeding, causing it to jam. the barrel fits snugly and headspacing checks out,
I am using wilson combat mags and remington round nose coper plated rounds.

the barel is: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productnumber=398124
Swenson Semi Drop-In Barrel 1911 45 ACP 1 in 16" Twist 4.25" Commander Steel Matte Black

any thoughts on possible fixes would be helpful, this is my first time bulding a 1911, everything else turned out perfect and would like to try to fix this one myself.

Thanks!

Reloads or facory ammo? With one mag or more than one mag? Is the bullet being pushed into the case? How amny rounds in the mag? Is it the first round of a new mag?

factory ammo, single mag (second mag ordered and awaiting), bullet does not seem to be being pushed into the case. it is an 8 round wilson combat mag. it has happened on the first round, last round and random rounds in between. there has been no consistency with the jaming, i've gotten full magazines out of it, and sometimes it jams 2-3 times a mag.

check to be sure the barrel throat is not flush or overhanging the feed ramp there should be a small gap from edge of feed ramp to barrel's bottom throat about an 1/32 of an inch. Lightly file and polish the bottom of the throat at an angle to get the gap needed. be careful to follow original angles and not to file into camber
