I noticed my new Ruger 10/22 specifically warns against use of Stinger ammunition and since the reason isn't completely clear to me I wonder if this would also apply to hyper-velocity rounds like Yellow Jacket as well. The warning seems to imply it is physical size of the case that is the problem? If it is, the Yellow Jacket seems to have a case about the size of a standard velocity LR round, whereas the Stinger case seems significantly longer. I have a supply of Stinger and Yellow Jacket ammo which I bought when ammo was scarce and my only .22 was a revolver. Both rounds seemed to run fine in my revolver, but now I have the 10/22 and a couple of semi automatic .22 pistols and I wonder exactly where these rounds can be used safely. Advice?

The warning is because Stingers use a longer case and shorter bullet, and may not chamber properly. I've shot them out of my 10/22 with no ill effect. YMMV. TTAIE, SYDFD.
