I am going to make my first purchase of CMP ammo. Was just wondering what your experiences have been with their ammo? Is it decent stuff? I am looking at

Just over a penny difference between the 2? I have shot the Aquila no issues at all.
you do get a ammo can with the surplus stuff.
The surplus is lake city manufactured from early 70s ?

Thanks Mac, I want to make sure I buy the stuff that has no issues with it. I haven't bought ammo for my Carbine in years since I really never shoot it.

you can check out cmp forums http://forums.thecmp.org/forumdisplay.php?f=5 I dont know if anyone has actually recieved the surplus ammo yet. I didnt see any reports. the surplus is a slighty better deal as shipping on aquila of equal amount is more also you get a 50 cal ammo can which you can sell for 10 or 15 bucks( easy 15$ at my club). Good luck and hurry up and wait.....before the mess I was 3 weeks out on the 22lr surplus deal
