So I stumbled across this in my travels and thought I would post it up here for some discussion. What do you guys think? Ever seen this before?

+1 on what is it going to do that 10MM or .45 ACP doesn't do better

10MM 165 gr (10.7 g) Golden Saber HP 1,425 ft/s (434 m/s) 744 ft·lbf (1,009 J)

45ACP 185 GR Bonded Defense 1,225 ft/s (373 m/s) 616 ft·lbf (835 J)

185gr in 50GI is about 1200 ft/sec velocity and about 600 foot pounds force

When they can find a way to shoot .500S&W out of it without the Glock receiver melting let me know.

It causes you to lose ammunition capacity, and burns a hole in your wallet, because the cartridge is proprietary.

SO a 50 "GI" is a new caliber? What are the ballistics on this new 50 GI caliber? and it seems that they are the ONLY ones that make the 50 caliber "GI" SO.....I see this is easy accessibility for buying the "50 GI" ammo is OUT and going to be very expensive.

Edit:...just struck me that this is the same company that makes the Model 1,2, and 3 1911 that also shoots this 50GI round. Just remembered and did not recognize the name at first. I knew it as Maricopa Tactical.

Just slipped my mind for a second...disregard my post above the EDIT. Thanks.

Here is a link to the caliber... http://www.guncrafterindustries.com/50gi-chp.shtml
