Anyone replace the front post on their AK with a night sight or something similar? I am talking about something like this...

It's not so much that I care about being able to see it at night, it's that I am having a hard time spotting the front sight when I shoot indoors. The dark target plus the light at the ranges I have been frequenting make it a bit hard to see. I am having some glasses issues as well, so maybe that's part of it as well.

I want to keep my AK relatively original looking and don't want to make any radical changes to it, but maybe that night sight post would help?

You can remove the front sight post and replace it with a neon platic glow-in-the-dark post. They are simple to replace. Or you could spray paint your post.

I would not go with those I would go with these:

I put a set on my .308 and noticed that the sight is much wider than the original. To compensate the notch on the rear sight leaf is wider. You may see a little loss in accuracy but it is an AK. If you just replace the front post then you may not be able to see any gap at the rear leaf demising your sight picture further having no reference points.

Brian @ Dinzag and his family run the business as a side business so shipping times can very. He is however a great guy and is always an e-mail away. He has answered a ton of questions for me during builds I have completed.

Damn, good point about the thickness of the night sight post. I didn't even think of that.

Painting the post might be the call...thanks!
