I noticed that my front sight was off when I was using my boresighter.
I popped the two pins that hold the front post on, inspected and reinstalled. After that it looked spot on with the bore sight.
I took it to the range and after 3 shots I was off the paper. I looked at the front post and noticed it was visibly shifted to the left about 5*. I was able to put the front post on the bench, grab the stock and twist with moderate force and the post moved. It was when lined up again. After 3-4 more shots it was off again, I guess do to vibrations or what not.
Here's a bad idea of what the Iron Sights should (left) and then do (right) look like.
I plan on taking this issue to a gunsmith, maybe some shims could fix this but I was looking for input prior to. I talked to ZHA and they said that there isn't a gunsmith onsite and I'd have to leave it with them. My other option id Greg Derr but he is more pistols. Anyone seen this before, can it be fixed at home by the mechanically / technically inclinded or should I bring this to the professionals. Any other competent gunsmiths on the south shore?
As always, thanks for the help.
