in all seriousness, this ammo shortage illustrates how useless real firearms will be in the case of an actual terminal event. a week of shooting, and, all will be out.
what we need is a semi-auto crossbow, with a self-regenerating supply of bolts.

Nerd talk here, but playing various online games back in the day. My friends and I would buy up resources needed for 'whatever' in a game and corner the market. The 'bots' would concentrate on expensive items, they left the lower tier stuff alone. But like primers, you still needed the lower tier stuff for basic 'healing' or whatever. That's were my cartel stepped in.
