Hey Guys, I did a search but all I came up with was threads from 2005 and 2008. I am looking for a pistol range that has decent hours and not too expensive. I am just looking for target practice and don't need the country club of ranges at this point. I live in Lenox, and the Lenox sportsmens club is literaly a half mile away, but I read that you have to be a member and jump through hoops to become one. Any advice on the Lee sportsmen club, or any close to Lenox.

Also, one day a week I make the drive for work from pittsfield, up Hwy 116 to Greenfield, MA then over I-91 to Hadley, then back on I-91 to the Mass pike to get to Lenox, So if there are any great ranges along this route, I am open to those as well.

Thanks,
Mike

You don't have to jump through hoops to join Lenox. http://www.lenoxsportsmensclub.com/membership-info-application/

Fill out the application and mail it in with your payment. Somebody will contact you to give you the introduction/tour along with your membership card and the combinations. It has 24/7 access for members (unless the range is closed for a league or some event, they send emails, post the calendar online, and it's in the monthly newsletter).

There aren't any commercial ranges out here like there are in other parts of the state. If you're dead set against joining a club for whatever reason, you can get a permit to the North Adams rifle range (and you can shoot pistols there) for I think $10/yr.

Lenox is $40/yr and $3 every time you go. There's an indoor archery range upstairs. Downstairs is pistol and .22LR rifles only. You can shoot up to .44 Magnum there.

Lee is another good choice if you get into shooting rifles. $75/yr and $3 every time you go (per range - ie. if you make use of the rifle range and then go over to the pistol range you pay again there etc.). There are 3 outdoor pistol ranges and an indoor range that closes at 10pm. Joining Lee is also pretty simple. http://www.leesportsmen.com/about-lsa/membership/. You can fill that out and take it and your check to a range safety orientation class. Check their calendar and call to let them know you'll be coming.

Something else you should know as we're getting late in the year, clubs don't prorate their fees. They're typically on a calendar year arrangement.
