Any Mini 14 owners/fans in the house?

Hey gents, new member here, as far as posting goes, I have been a read only guy for a while. Any Mini 14/30 owners here? I have a 580 tactical model with a wood stock (made it look like the Davidson's Deluxe model) and I love it. Very reliable rifle, fairly simple to break down and clean, and fun to shoot. Mine happens to be accurate out of the box, and I know some have been known to suffer from poor accuracy and not perform well when hot. The only mod I have done is a trigger job, and I only polished the sears. I know a lot of people compare it to the AR but I feel it is a totally different rifle that shares the same caliber. I am looking to an AR to my collection eventually but I want to make the right decision and take my time, so I don't end up wanting another in the future. So any other Mini fans/owners here?

Nice, stainless model must clean up nicely. I also hear the stainless barrel will last a little longer and wear slower. I have the tactical so it's blued, although I almost grabbed a stainless GB LE model from Buds Gun Shop before finally settling on mine. Do you run an optic or just iron sights?

I wear bifocals and have trouble with irons. I have a cheap 4x scope on it. I also just got a Primary Arms m3 style red dot that I may try on it.

I had a Mini-14 for a while a few years back. I liked it OK, but I traded it in towards my USP if memory serves. It was an OK rifle, I just like the AR platform a whole lot more.

im a huge fan, i dont have one though! for a cheap .223 they are great, i've heard people reaching out accurately to 300 yards with em!
