the velocity model that is cheaper is a plastic unit much like the S&W.
I had my thread protector pinned on the LT model. I would call to see if they have any MA ready models?

I looked at Ruger's offering at FS yesterday. Really nicely designed. Only downside was that the pinned stock was too long for my Wife. Nice touch with the barrel shroud having so many tapped holes for standard rails to be mounted on.
