AR barrel rifling question

The kind that goes round and round like a screw...

kidding I thought it was 1/7 or 1/9 but I really just wanted to be a smart ass.

Yeah, I'm looking at kits for one of my NES receivers and I want to build a standard flattop/carry handle configuration as close as I can get it to a military configuration. The place I was planning to order from uses a 1/9, which IIRC is best suited for 62 gr.

1/9 should be good for 62grn.. I believe it goes that the great the weight of the bullet, the greater the twist ratio. So 1/12 for 55grn, 1/7 for 77grn...something like that. I believe thats why most do 1/9, its a good middle ground twist/ratio.

Yup yup. I got 1/7 and my AR loves 69gr HPBT

If I am not mistaken, current issue rifles have a 1:7 twist, chrome lined, MP inspected barrel.
