Anyone change out their factory trigger. I would like to do it myself, Timney makes a drop in anyone have one of these. It looks like the trigger breaks at 4lb is this adjustable?? How much better is this than the factory trigger. Giselle makes a two stage that gets great reviews just not certain I want two stage or if its a do it your self type trigger.
Thanks

I have some experience with the Timney drop-in trigger, but in the AR/223. I bought one from Brownells and found that it was way too creepy. Returned it for a refund; you gotta love Brownells.

The Geiselle is a do-it-yourself if you know how to install a trigger. It is the best two-stage available.

"What are the benefits of using a two stage trigger over single? "

The advantage is primarily in competitions where there is a minimum trigger weight. In NRA Highpower and CMP comps, the Service Rifle must have a 4-1/2lb trigger. With a single-stage, you've got that entire weight to pull. With a two-stage, you pull the first stage which is prob 3-1/2 to 4 lb and the second stage is just an additional 1/2 to 1 lb. It makes it seem like a 1lb trigger pull.

Now, if you aren't bound by minimum trigger weight, then that advantage is gone. I still prefer two-stage because that is what I have always used in shooting, from the M1/M14 and now the AR.
Some games (of which I am not familiar) the standard is single-stage. Why, I don't know. I'll let somebody else take that one.

I prefer triggers by Accuracy Speaks. Their advantage is that you can use a stock hammer spring and still get a crisp 4 lb trigger. This is important if you intend to a 22LR upper. A lot of the light after market triggers won't reliably ignite 22 rimfire ammo.
