AR15 Bolt Catch question

Looks like an 'entry' stock. I don't know what combination of parts or spacers are supposed to be in there

I'm guessing buffer's too long...

Spring is 11" on the button
Buffer is 3.5"
Buffer Tube (receiver ext.) is 7.25"



That's the stock and buffer tube setup.

Do I need to switch this setup?

Is that the screw you use? Looks too long.

Does the rubber pad thing (it's not rubber, but whatever) have a mark on it from hitting that screw?

I will likely buy a new stock setup for this rifle and change buffer length. The screw I am using may be too long as well but not by much, it is the one that came in the box with the stock. Something must be off with this thing though so out it goes. Cant say I was in love with it anyways.

I appreciate the help guys, certainly helped me narrow it down.

Combination of buffer too long and the screw too long.

Bet the buffer has dings on it.

Try a better buffer spring.
