I was cleaning a friend's double star carbine and as I was breaking down the bolt carrier group I noticed when I got to the extractor there was a small O ring around the little spring. My Colt does not have this. Is this an aftermarket improvement or should my Colt have one too? I've been shooting my colt like this for a long time...

i wonder if this will solve the issue I am having with my AR.
from time to time i tend to get a spent casing suck in the chamber and have to use a cleaning rod to get it out.
every time this happens, the casing looks as though the extractor stripped it...
