Assorted Glock Issues

i've never had an issue with LWD slides. i think the machining quality and specs are right. their striker assemblies and other parts I'm just meh on. their triggers sort of suck. their 3.5# connector is nice for those who like the 3.5# connector and it's cheaper than a ghost. personally i just use factory connectors. the LWD timberwolf frames are another story. they are spotty at best and some are straight up defective.

i have a gen3 G19 with factory frame and LWD upper. it runs like a champ and eats anything that comes near it. only issue has been with factory 10rd OEM mags nosediving on the last round (everytime) and frequently with JHP's. these are known to be trash. there are endless threads at glocktalk about how to fix them so they work. it requires a new follower. i think the 9mm3 but i always have to double check beforehand to be sure. while i'm in the magazine i put a wolff spring and then the mag really wakes up.

the 10rd ETS mags have worked well for me. no steel internals so who knows how long they would last but they do work fine and don't require any expensive mods to get them running right. my old man uses the ETS fun stick and works well in his G17.

I have the 10 round ETS magazines and I haven't had an issue either, they've been flawless (although tough to load when new). The G19 with the LW upper and like yours, it had also been a champ until the run in with the Federal almuminum case stuff, and I had tried all kinds of other garbage with zero issues (HotShot, TulAmmo, leftover unidentified random garbage at the range, steel case).

Fyi-i've used that aluminum federal several times in my gen 417 and gen 3 19.....never an issue.....took a class with the 17 in fact....ran flawless....The Glocks are stock.

when people mess with their glocks, then they wont work. I say Why Why Why!
stop messin with them . After all it's been perfected already ......glock perfection it's the company motto

Range Update:
Two more range trips since my last update. Still not an issue with the G19, probably another 300+ rounds. Mostly CCI Blazer Brass and Herters brass, both 115 grain. I also tried the original box of Federal Aluminum that gave me issues in a friends stock VP9 and stock gen 4 G19. Had some FTE as well with these. I suspect a bad box of ammo. The G26 is a different story. I put another 300+ rounds through of the same CCI and Herters and had some FTFeed and FTE. The issue seemed to be far more prevelant when its my tiny wife shooting. We thought maybe she was limp wristing, but we had the same issues (to a lesser extent) with both me and my buddy shooting. I've decided to replace the extractor and depressor plunger with OEM parts. Should I replace the firing pin assembly with OEM as well? I didnt think that it would cause the problems im having, but I'm clearly a novice.

Got a bunch of range updates since I last posted. I replaced the LW extractor and LW depressor/plunger setup on the 26 with OEM. I also put pinky grip extensions on the oem and ets 26 10-rounders on all my mags. No issues at all with me or the wife firing it. Probably 5 or 6 range trips of at least 200 rounds per trip. Seems like the extractor was the problem. Still have the LW extractor on my G19, thinking about swapping it out. Feels good to have everything squared away.

What extractor you using? I Changed my 26 and 19 with the Lone Wolf extractor and improved the extraction in the 26 but barely in the 19 and just may do the Apex one this spring. I have never had a failure with my Glocks of any kind but not a fan of the Brass to face Issues

EDIT: Just saw you wrote OEM

My glocks don't usually do the brass to the face thing. The VP9 in the armory at MFS ejects EVERY round off my right eye.

Two more range updates. 150 rounds of assorted grain fmj flawless again on the G26 on both trips. 200 flawless of 115 grain Blazer Brass on the G19 on both trips. I sent the LW extractor back to them to be replaced under their lifetime warranty, even though I don't plan on using anything besides oem going forward.

IMHO if you are getting bad BTFs (like high in frequency) the gun is broken and should be sent back. Particularly out of a 26 or a 19.

And let me ask you, what do they fix? or say they fixed? Usually the newer Ejector is all they do unless I'm wrong.
Maybe someone could chime In on what was fixed by Glock. Thanks

God only knows, but when I had my G17Gen4, an early release model, I sent it to Glock and they fixed it, and that gun had no BTFs with anything, even shitty weak ammo. Like a retard I sold that gun... [crying] lol.

Will they perform this service on Gen 4 for a MA resident?

I don't see why not. Carlos Guevera, chief corporate attorney, is very aware of how the MA law works. I'm sure Glock understands the nuances that it is legal to own, just not for a licensee to transfer.

I have a sample set of 1. I sent my 42 back with no issues.

They will do whatever they need to do to make it run. I don't really understand your question.

Why would they limit the work they do on a firearm to just the ejector? Actually, you can't fix an ejector, you just change it. Since most of the parts on the inside of a Glock are either injection molded plastic or stamped heat treated sheet steel, costs are minimal. They are not shy about swapping parts out.

Don

p.s. In my case, the gun had very distinct stacking before trigger release. The pull was over 11 lbs as measured on my Lyman digital gauge. They simply swapped out all the fire control parts. I was not yet a Glock certified armorer. If I was, they would have just sent me the parts to change myself. Its not rocket surgery.

I have never had a Glock fail to work in almost 20 years no matter what ammo. What I was saying is that we all know that a lot of Glocks have BTF issues. So when I said that's all they will fix (Ejector) it's because someone posted to send it back to Glock
so they can just change that? No way in hell , I do all that myself and have the newer ejector already. What I want to know is what would they fix if you have numerous BTF issues? Apex makes a new Extractor for a reason and a bud on here has changed his and say's it's night and day now.

It's never that simple, IMHO. In one case they sent me a new gun.

Gotcha Mike

What really sucks is they rarely/never tell you what they did... I think it's because there's a "corporate shame" thing with Glock in terms of not wanting to admit that one of their products might be defective. Glock doesn't do recalls either, even when its obvious theres a ton of broken shit out there at times.
