Hey all. Trying to figure out my Form 1 disapproval.

I recently submitted my application to build an SBR and received an email with the dreaded “Status Change Disapproved - Other”. After opening the PDF with the submitted application, the offered reason at the bottom was “License Expired”.

When I submitted the application, I attached my MA LTC. The problem here that I’m trying to figure out is why they would disapprove the application when my LTC is not expired!?

The only thing I can come up with is that they consider the LTC to be “expired” because it needs to be renewed later this year. FWIW, my LTC is set to expire on 12/22/25. Could this be the reason for the disapproval?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Huh. Is that like not being allowed to fly overseas on a passport that will expire "too soon", whatever that means?

They f***ed up. Simple as that. You must have gotten an intern handing your application from West Virginia University who was hung over.

Or a bank that wouldn't accept an expired passport as identification, apparently because I was no longer me once 10 years had passed.

The travel thing is real though,. A number of countries won't let you in if your passport will expire before their "normal stay limit" (3 or 6 months, whatever), as they want to make sure your passport will be valid so that they can send you someplace else when you've worn out your welcome.

That’s so bizarre. I don’t understand why so many places gave that policy.

Maybe 20 years ago I used my first passport for id when I got a job. (Tax stuff).

The passport was from 1972 when I was an infant. No problem.

Email them. I generally had good communication with the agent who approved my Form 1s.
Second this. On my first form 1, paper mind you, ATF called me to tell me that I forgot to supply them with my LTC. They supplied me an email to send to and they held my place in line so I didn't go to the back of the queue.

Third this. Did the same thing on my first one. The ATF licensing crew was very easy to deal with. Email them.

Banking is because of KYC regulations.

Form I-9 for employment is worse. We just switched to E-Verify. It's scary how DHS has full access to all government records. There will be no more parent verification for under-18: everyone must have a valid, unexpired, photo ID from List B, plus a secondary document from List C, even if they're 14 years old.

The alternative is a List A document (passport or passport card), and then we have to upload a copy.

Did I ever tell you guys about the time I accidently said I was an illegal alien in the US unlawfully and they still approved me?

And yes, I've always used my LinkedIn profile pic and it's never been an issue.
