Gratuitous BCM pic post...

On a lightweight 14.5" gun, I'd go for a T1/2. I have a PRO on my 10.5" LMT because I have one and can't justify replacing something that aint broke. On my 16" BCM I have a 1-4x because it is a standard profile barrel and a tad on the heavier side anyways.

Why the T vs the H, strictly night vision or is there other reasons? I'm not even sure how you would setup up a T-2 with NV...

Any reason to go with the assembled rifle vs BCM lower + upper? I believe you can save several hundred bucks just buying them separate and snapping them together. Plus you have the stock. Any major benefits to the full rifles? Resale value? Just curious.

^^^i don't think so...the benefit of buying separate is like you said...maybe save money and be able to buy a lower without a stock and add your own...how would anyone know if you bought a full rife or a full upper and a full lower and put them together as long as they are both BCM...the upper has no serial number to match to the lower

I've lost all respect for you.... Shouldn't that tactical ice scraper be in FDE?!

Give him a break, his vehicle has FDE trim.

he gets a company discount on full rifles (and presumably not on components).

Already been covered... I get complete rifles at cost so it a wash.

The lower is on sale for $400, but not in stock and the upper is mid to high $700s but also not in stock. My complete rifle is already at the dealer and within $20.

None of that is an attempt at bragging of any sort, as I've said in other threads, the difference between dealer cost and regular store retail is often nothing to get to excited about. It just happens to make sense for me here in this situation

Lol. Hadn't noticed the FDE trim. I guess I get knocked down a rung on the tactical ladder for not noticing.... What's below kitchen clean up crew in tactical status?

Why is that? I was leaning that way cause of the bigger view.

The MRO FOV is perfect, the price range is right and the form factor works.... From the units I've seen the fisheye and slight .magnification are real, and the red streaking of the lens coating can be an issue in the right light. Given all that, and the fact your within. $100 of getting into a micro with a larue mount (origianl mirco, not the 2 series)

Even given all that, I still might grab one to run over this summer and wait for holiday Aimpoint deals. My wife asked me to set her up her own AR so she will need an optic as well

My BCM complete Lower was 350 from Rainier Arms and My Complete 14.5 BCM upper was 850 From BCM, Never priced a complete BCM AR

There expensive. Not sure why, but as others have pointed out it's cheaper 99% of the time to put a bum upper and lower together.

I don't have access to bcm uppers at at discount, otherwise I would have gone that way

well kinda expensive but ...........I bought a 16 inch SS Fluted Match WYLDE with a 15 inch Midwest SSK Rail complete upper with BCG and was 550 plus the 95.00 PWS Brake so lets say 700 after the Pin/weld so 150 more for the BCM isn't a Bad Idea IMOP.

Wow, from reading that quote, that you quoted me... My autocorrect is really annoying.

I ended up ordering a MRO with the cheap Trijicon mount to try out. Worse comes to worse, I'll throw it on my wife's rifle when it gets built or a MP 15/22 I couldn't bring myself to throw down the $750 for a T-2 right now when I know theres deals to be had when the demand isn't so high

I remember seeing great Aimpoint deals last November. Probably will be good ones this November. Let us know how you like the MRO.

Rifle is home, Surefire mini scout is on, but I think I want the Arisaka Defense Keymod mount for it to get it forward on on the 45deg angle. Ordered a Knights Armament Keymod wire management setup for the Surefire as well.

The MRO came in, but I'm about two weeks away from having the rest of the cash.

Final decisions, BUIS and Sling. Samson or YHM for BUIS are the front runners and I'm not sure on the sling (I had a Magpul MS4 on my Tavor)

BFG for the sling. I have a Viking Tactical but it seems less willing to extend than tighten, I might switch to a BFG.

I use Troy sights but i'm more forgiving of past transgressions.

The BFG 221 looks cool....

As far as Troy goes, the seem like good stuff... I guess I just feel like YHM is helping push suppressor legalization here in MA and Samson are good guys that are local in Keene.

So is Troy. They make Supressors and are located in MA. Not far from YHM. The quality you will get from Troy far surpasses the quality from YHM.

For the sling, Magpul MS1. I used to run only BFG VCAS slings on my personal and work rifles. My new BCM build I went with the MS1 and I like it better. Easier to adjust, no plastic quick release buckle, and cheaper. On top of that the new style Magpul QR loops are awesome, more expensive, but much faster and easier

I use Arisaka mounts on both of my lighted guns, with Arisaka M300/600 bodies and Malkoff heads.

It saddens me to hear people are supporting Troy Industries and buying their products.

As a rule of thumb, I don't care what others do with their firearms. Their money, their gun, their business, that's cool with me.

But you won't find a single Troy anything in my house. F$&K them

Almost there. Going with the Magpul Pros for BUIS. The Trijicon MRO mount is useless, but it at least get the optic on the rifle until I can decide on a QR setup. The Arisaka Defense M300 mount is cool. Not cheap at $35+, but it seems seems to get theigjt in a good place
