I have been doodling 1911 rear sights for a long while with how I would like a rear sight setup. I have modified 10-8s and Novak's but I was never 100% satisfied and for me to make them in house it wasn't cost effective .I finally got a chance to sit down with a local shop who specializes in Aerospace & medical CNC machining. I gave them my drawings with a sight that I machined up.
Being only a few hundred yards from my shop & the owner being a gun advocate he was willing to take the rather small project on and make these a reality . Also didn't hurt that my wife worked there . So After some refining and tweaks I finally got one in my hands.
These were designed for guns that will see heavy use and abuse
Specs:
4140 bar stock
for 495 x 65 deg Novak dovetail
.325 height
.140 U-notch
slight concave vertical front ledge
Tapered side walls
shadow box
Maganese parkerizing with Cerakote (probably)
Novak..... BEC......10-8
