No, it shouldn't fire. It has a hammer blocking decocker / safety - pushing down on the decocker / safety will safely lower the hammer to the DA mode of firing.
Just to be safe, you can test it to double check that it is working the way it should. Place a pen or pencil down the bore, cock the pistol, and then trip the decocking lever. The pencil should stay in place. If it flies out the barrel, then the firing pin has struck the pencil, and the decocker is not working properly and you should have it looked at before actually using it with live ammo.
